I'm covered in paint.

Allen's friend's brother gave me a free entertainment center for my living room. It was pretty dirty, old, and a light-wood color. Everything else I own is black, so yesterday I spent about 6 hours fixing screws, removing hinges, and painting it black. I bought new stainless steel knobs at Home Depot and put on. It looks great! My head hurts from all the paint fumes... I just painted it on a sheet in my living room because it's too big for me to carry downstairs alone.

I had a meeting with the Department Chair on Friday, and he gave me a host of new responsibilities. My first big project will be installing a PHP / MySQL server for the Department's website and developing an entirely NEW site with better-organized content. I'm really excited for this job - I've always wanted to have my own commercial web server under my control. Now instead of just "designer", I'm a "master." :)

Other duties are going to include a lot of organizing, publishing, and fundraising.

I think I'm going to volunteer to help run Body Worlds 3... the exhibition will be in Salt Lake from September to January, and they need people to volunteer to help with basic office duties. Maybe I'll even be a tour guide for people.

I had a pretty boring weekend. Friday night, I played some video games online and chatted with Dan for an hour on the phone. Then I went to bed early because my allergies were pretty bad and I needed an allergy pill. Yesterday, I went shopping with my parents, saw my little sister's engagement ring (wow!) and then came home for the painting projects. I still have black paint all over my hands.

This afternoon, I'm meeting a new friend named Aubrey. That will be 4 Aubrae that I know. (Aubrae is the plural of Aubrey.) I'm a little nervous - according to our emails to each other, we'll get along great... but at the same time, meeting someone in real life that I met online seems awkward. If I don't keep updating this blog, it's because she's a serial killer and she murdered me.
