At the gym, I've been doing squats entirely wrong. Like, embarrassingly wrong. People would always look at me a little funny, but I just thought they were checking out my ass. (You have to stick it way out there when you squat. Especially when you squat the wrong way.) Anyway, I saw a video on how to do it correctly online, and I did it correctly for the firs time. The next day, my legs were a little sore. Nothing too bad. But the day after THAT, I was walking like a penguin up and down the halls in my office. My legs are still kind of sore.
But I'm in shape! I had my biometric screening for my health insurance reduction this week. Low cholesterol, low blood pressure, no diabetes, good heart rate, 6'0" and 163 pounds.
Work is good. I like my job. Not much news there! School starts tomorrow so I'm guessing there will be a million more people on campus everyday. No more eating in the Union - I'll have to bring a lunch. I think I'm going to buy a sandwich maker.
Friday night, my Uncle Donald and his family from Idaho were in town. We all went to this big park together and I played with my nephews all evening. I think they wore me out more than I them! They're nuts. But it was fun.
Last night, poker! My first poker night since I got to SLC. I had 5 people come over - Allen and his friend Steve, Ben, Angela, and Devin. I only lost $5. We had a lot of fun, and I'm finally meeting some new friends and being social here. Feels good to make some friends.
I miss my friends in Fort Collins though. I don't know how Dan's surviving without me, but I'm trying to get him to move into my second bedroom. Right now, it's just wasted space.
Well, these video games aren't going to play themselves. I have work to do!
